    Description

Although I live in Granada, I studied architecture in Seville and my research work has led me to know this town very well and to be able to explain it with rich and different nuances, discovering very little known aspects. We will deal with its Roman past, the Andalusian period and how it became the most important port in the world between the 16th and part of the 17th century. All the products that came from America or distant lands to be distributed in Europe arrived here, and its different periods of splendour have built the Seville that we can visit today with an important heritage legacy reflected in its streets, palaces, parks and its life. The port was built on a small mound from Roman times, safe from the wild floods and floodwaters of the Guadalquivir River. We start from the river to understand the geographical location of the city and its construction as a city-port of great importance throughout history.
We will follow the streets on our way to the centre of power: we visit the Alcázar, the Archivo de Indias and the Cathedral, and after a traditional tapas lunch, we will walk through another part of the centre, learning about the transformation of the streets from their Roman layout to the labyrinth of Andalusian streets.
We will also visit the traditional courtyard house and the grandiose Casa Pilatos, the second largest palace in Seville after the Alcazar.Seville is an exceptional city to learn about the centuries of history and different cultures that have passed through Andalusia, its different architectures and ways of using public space and buildings. And I assure you that after this visit, your view of the city will change and you will be able to appreciate and admire it even more.
